STREET X STREET
1–7 November 2026
Fitzmaurice Street is doing more after 5pm
Fitzmaurice Street is doing more after 5pm
For one week, more places along Fitzmaurice Street + surrounds will be open later and doing something a little different.
Start with dinner somewhere you know. Try the place you’ve walked past a hundred times. Find a special that’s only on for the week. Stay for one stop, or see what else is happening down the street.
There’s no set way to do STREET x STREET. Pick a place to start and make a night of it.
What could your night look like?
Every business takes part differently, so what’s happening changes from place to place and night to night.
You might find somewhere open later than usual, a one-off menu or special, live music, a tasting, a workshop, something happening in a shopfront or a good excuse to finally walk through a door you usually pass by.
How it works
Pick a night
There’ll be different offers, specials and things happening from 5pm across the week.
Start anywhere
Dinner, a shop, music, a drink, something you booked or something you spotted on the way.

Saturday, with a bit more room to move
On Saturday 7 November, Fitzmaurice Street will close to traffic for the evening. There’ll be things happening along the street and in public spaces, alongside everything happening inside participating venues. Wander without the traffic, stop somewhere for dinner, find something happening next door and see a familiar part of town differently.
Fitzmaurice Street will be closed to vehicles from 4.30pm to 10.30pm on Saturday 7 November. See road closure and parking information.
The first STREET x STREET takes over Fitzmaurice Street + surrounds, from Victory Memorial Gardens to Crampton Street, including the nearby side streets.
Baylis Street gets its turn in March 2027.
